Thanks a lot bro for giving it a read and I definitely agree with you that some Chinese mp4 players do have fake capacities, infact i have been a victim of these counterfeits,and that has made me more cautious towards cheap imitations of original goods.

also, i have found same issues with multiple Mp4, mp5 players. it will tell 8gb but will give only 2Gb. be care ful with these.

Will give the actual capacity. Why trash it. Format it in linux to one actual capacity partition & leave the rest unallocated. At least you will get 10% value of your money.
